Comparing Load G Rated Tires for Triple Axle Trailer

Question:

I was going over the QandAs on the TTWPRG235R16 and Adam R made the statement that the tire was a 75mph tire but on the tire tech page it says it is a 81mph tire? Also, looking at the TTWPRG235R16 vs the PRG80235, is the .7inch difference the only difference between the two tires? I have a 3 axle, 16,000lbs tow hauler, which would be better?

In terms of speed rating, it has been confirmed that the Provider # TTWPRG235R16 does have a speed rating of M, or 81 mph.

There are a number of differences between this tire and the Provider # PRG80235 you referenced, which I'll go over.

The # TTWPRG235R16 is a 235/85R16 tire that has a diameter that is 0.93" larger than the # PRG80235. It has a load rating of G with a dual tire capacity of 3,860 lbs at 110 psi, and a tread depth of 12/32".

The # PRG80235 is a 235/80R16 tire that has a load rating of G with a dual tire capacity of 3,640 lbs at 110 psi and a tread depth of 11/32".

For your triple axle trailer, the Provider # TTWPRG235R16 will be the better option due to its higher capacity and slightly larger tread depth.
