Lighting Requirements for 16-Foot Trailer That Needs New Lights and Wiring
Question:
Hi, I was hoping you can help me. I am looking to purchase trailer lights with all of the functions. I need to rewire my entire trailer which is 16 and need to ensure this will go to my truck. Can you guide me to the correct wiring harness and trailer lights. Thank You.

We can help you with new lighting and wiring for your 16-foot trailer.
A trailer's type, size and weight determine the type and number of lights it must legally have to be compliant with DOT regulations. We have a helpful article that covers these requirements in detail and it is linked for you. I also linked an article on trailer wiring that shows how each different wiring connector type is set up. Our main pages for trailer lighting and wiring parts are included too.
For a whole new wiring setup you might want to use a handy junction box # HS381-9000. This comes with a 7-way plug installed and inside it has posts to allow connection of wiring that has ring terminals like # 44-5310A. This makes for a clean and reliable wiring installation, including the wiring for electric trailer brakes if your trailer has them. We also have some complete lighting/wiring kits, also linked for you, such as # TLL9RK.
