Kit to Upgrade 5-Way on Trailer to 7-Way
Question:
I read in the FAQ section you can wire a 7 pin plug to work with the trailer, just use the pins you need. I have a myco boat trailer with surge brakes and a flat 5 connector. Im wanting to rewire this trailer mainly cause there is several patches in the harness and the running lights dont work most the time. What would be the best way to go about doing this? I dislike running an adaptor, should I buy a 7 pin plug and pin it myself or buy a 7 pin plug harness and just run the 5 wires I need? Obviously I would have to test each wire to know what wire ran what. Thanks

We have a kit that's designed for exactly what you are looking to do. The Trailer Wiring 7-Way Upgrade Kit part # HS381-9000 is designed for upgrading a trailer from a 4-way to a 7-way but can also be used with 5-way wiring as well very easily.
