Can Trailair Pin Box Help with Truck Bed Rail Clearance
Question:
I have a 2008 Jayco Eagle 5th Wheel. I recently purchase a 2015 RAM 3500 Long bed. I currently use the Andersen Ultimate 5th Wheel connector. I noticed when I turned to sharp that the rear of the kingpin box came into contact with my side rails of the truck bed. I see from earlier posts you recommended the LC179879 from Lippert. Will this work with the Andersen Ultimate 5th Wheel connector? I can raise the Andersen up about a inch and half, but this makes my trailer unlevel. Its about 26 1/2 inches from the frame to the ground in the front and 23 1/2 inches from the frame to the ground in the back? How bad would this be? I have about 6 1/2 inches between the bedrails and the bottom side of the 5th wheel.

The Trailair Pin Boxes like the part # LC179879 are compatible with Andersen Ultimate fifth wheel adapters, but you'll need to verify your trailer's current pin box to make sure this is the correct fitting Trailair. This # LC179879 is designed to replace the Lippert 0719 pin box. Which you'd need to check the pin box you have for a sticker or plate and that info will be listed there.
If you have a different pin box model let me know and I'll pick you out the correct Trailair for it. The rear of this pin box is cut out much further than the pin box you have based on your picture so you will gain clearance.
