How to Open the Stake Pocket Holes on a 2018 Ford F-150 for the TracRac SR

Question:

My new truck has removeable stake hole caps at the tailgate end of the bed. However, the stake holes are covered up at the front of the bed adjacent to the cab. How do you locate and cleanly cut the plastic over the stake holes without a removable cap without damaging the truck? Is there a DIY video showing what tools to use and how to do this?

Expert Reply:

The best way to open up the rear stake pockets on your 2018 Ford F-150 would be to remove the rail cover, make a template out of cardboard using the stake pocket hole in the bed, then transfer that tempate to the rail cover and cut/trim accordingly. Once completed this will allow you to use both the BAK Revolver X2 Hard Tonneau Cover part # BAK39329 and the TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Rack part # TH43002XT-508 on your F-150.

Unfortunately, we do not have a video of the process at this time.
