Recommended Equal-i-Zer Weight Distribution System for Trailer with Close to 1,000 Pounds of TW
Question:
I’m i ok to have ordered the 12 k equalizer when i have a 8800 max gvw camper. I think i will be close and possibly over the 1000 lbs tongue weight so i went with12k vs 10k. Is this to much for my camper or should i have just ordered the 10k

If your trailer's loaded tongue weight is already close to 1,000 pounds the 1,200 pound Equal-i-zer, part # EQ37120ET, is the better choice. Especially since you said you may go over the 1,000 pounds.
Additionally, when it comes to weight distribution, the amount of weight you have stored behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle acts as tongue weight. So you need to add this to the tongue weight of your loaded trailer. If you haven't already factored this in then you definitely need at least the 1,200 pound system, and possibly even the 1,400 pound system # EQ37140ET.
