Question:

Will this work on my truck without removing the factory step bumper hitch? Thanks

As long as you have full access to the underside of the bumper mounting holes, through the step bumper, and they measure 8-3/4 inches center to center then you may be able to mount the Curt bumper mount hitch # E-3S without removing the step bumper.

However, when speaking with my contact at Curt, they mentioned this type of hitch is meant for RV's. He also confirmed that in most cases, the factory bumpers would not fit this hitch.

The length of the bolts that are included with the kit are 2 hex bolts that are 1/2" diameter and 13 x 2" and 2 hex bolts 3/4" diameter and 10 x 3".

Please measure your vehicle to see if you have the clearance for this hitch.

Would this Curt 2 trailer hitch fit a step bumper for a 2007 Colorado pick up

The Curt 2" Receiver # E-3S is a relatively universal type hitch - as long as you have the space available under the step bumper of your Chevy Colorado you can make it work. It's just a matter of if the holes need to be drilled or if they're already present. I would check your bumper to see if there are bolt holes spaced apart by 8-3/4". If so, this will be a simple bolt-on installation and it'll work perfectly.
