Recommended Swing-Away Bike Rack for 2018 Toyota Sienna
Question:
Good morning. Im looking for a 2inch hitch rack for a 2018 Toyota Sienna that will check the following boxes: 1 Accommodate mid-fat 3inch wide tires mountain bikes, 2 The rack can swing clear of the tailgate for trunk access with bikes loaded, and 3 the rack is on the more stable end of the spectrum going over bumps on the highway. Thanks very much for your recommendations.

For your 2018 Toyota Sienna, I recommend taking a look at the RockyMounts BackStage 2 Bike Platform Rack # RKY10002.
This is an excellent platform-style carrier that can actually swing out and away from the rear of your vehicle, with the bikes still loaded, to give you complete rear cargo access on your Sienna. The platform cradles can accept tire widths of up to 5 inches, so there won't be any issue with the 3 inch tires on your bikes. It features ratcheting hooks that will secure the bikes by their front wheels without any frame contact, and it can hold 2 bikes that are up to 60 pounds each.
The included threaded anti-rattle hitch pin and hand knob will allow you to tightly secure its shank to the hitch receiver on your Sienna, eliminating movement inside the receiver and providing a stable connection for travel. I have attached a test course video on the rack so you can see exactly how it operates with the vehicle moving and driving over bumps. A hitch lock and cable lock are also included to secure everything into place and help deter theft.
