Recommended Ball Mount for Ford Escape with Factory Hitch
Question:
I have a ball mount for my Ford Escape with the factory hitch. The ball mount sticks out very far from the hitch. Any options for a shorter length ball mount?

Based on your photo it appears your ball mount sticks out about 7 or 8 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the hitch ball. This is not a very long measurement and is actually one of the shorter distances for ball mounts.
If you want the cleaner look, I recommend the B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 3" Drop, 3-1/2" Rise - 7.5K - Black # BWTS10035B which will give you a measurement of 3-3/4 inches from the hitch pin hole to the mounting block and will allow you to store the integrated hitch balls behind the black when not in use to protect your shins and give you that clean look.
I recommend using the hitch lock # BX8858 to secure your investment.
