I've linked all of the available trailer hitch receivers that fit your 2000 Ford F-150.
Of the selection I recommend the Curt # 13359. It's a complete bolt-on installation and fits both the standard and stepside trucks. It also allows the full-size 20 inch spare tire to remain in place. I've linked the install details for you.
If you also need trailer wiring you can add a 4-way using # C56031 if you have a standard bed or # C55344 for a Flareside. These both plug in behind the tail lights and are confirmed to fit if you don't have any factory wiring. If your truck has a factory connector and you need to replace or convert it let me know and I'll recommend the correct part.
I've linked our selection of ball mounts that fit the Curt hitch I recommended. Use the help article I've also linked to determine the rise or drop you need with your trailer to choose the correct one.
