Replacement Hub/Drum and Brake Assemblies Needed for a Hub/Drum Part # 92865

Question:

I have a trailer with trailer house axles. I put a brake kit on it years ago that had drums for 8 lug wheels. I thought it was Dexter stuff? But my magnets are round with a small round hole in the center and metal stay to keep it from moving and drum # 92865, shoes are 12x2. Can you help with any parts?

From previous customer questions it sounds like the hub you have is similar to the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # 42866UC3-EZ. This is compatible with 5.2K - 7K trailer axles. They fit with 12" x 2" brake assemblies and have an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern.

You can verify that this is the correct replacement by measuring the locations on your spindle where your bearings and grease seal fits. If the measurements are 1.75" for the inner bearing, 1.25" for the outer bearing, and 2.25" for the grease seal then this is the correct assembly for you.

If you are needing to replace your brake assemblies then the part # 23-458 for left and part # 23-459 for the right will be the appropriate parts. These are 12" x 2" assemblies and install on a 5 bolt brake mounting flange.

Please note that if the axles you have are for a mobile home trailer then you will need to have them replaced. Mobile home axles are meant to only be used once. Any more use than that could result in unpredictable circumstances.
