Using a ball mount that has a 7,500 lb Gross Towing Weight (GTW) capacity, like the Curt # C45036, with a trailer hitch that is rated only for 6,000 lbs is definitely okay.

For any towing setup you are limited by the lowest rated component. Just knowing the ball mount and trailer hitch capacity tells me that the max you can tow is 6,000 lbs. I bet if you check your owner's manual you will see that your vehicle is actually rated to tow less than 6,000 lbs which means that the weight capacity of your vehicle is the lowest rated component.
