Is the Replacement Pro Series Assembly # PS30854 a Direct Replacement for Pro Series # 30098 Head
Question:
I would like to confirm that the Reese 16K dual jaw hitch head Part PS30854 is the correct one to upgrade my Reese Pro 16K slidebar hitch head assembly #30098 to a dual jaw. My present Pro 16K slidebar hitch is being used with a Reese Revolution pinbox #61510 and I would like to reduce the jarring and chucking experienced with slidebar hitches during starting/stopping and during travel on rough roads. As part of this question, I was also wondering if just the Reese Pro 16K dual jaw Head is available, since it appears to me in pictures that the head support assembly and the big pin clip are the same for the Reese Models 30098 and 30854. Last question is whether the Reese Sidewinder 30850 wedge kit would be the correct one for my Revolution pinbox in conjunction with the Pro series 16K Model 30854 dual jaw hitch head. I have never been able to hitch /unhitch with the universal wedge and the tech who installed my truck hitch never could not get it to work either, so we went with a sliding hitch and locked the Revolution pinbox. But I would like to try the universal wedge.

The Replacement Head Assembly PS30854 that you referenced is the replacement for the discontinued head assembly 30098 that you currently have installed on your 5th wheel hitch.
This is the most "broken down" the head assembly gets when it comes to ordering a replacement. The whole assembly is included and is not available without the support assembly and pin.
The Sidewinder Wedge Kit # 30850 is exactly what you need for this replacement head assembly as well. The universal wedges are nice but they do not provide as snug a fit as the custom fit wedges.
