Recommended Autoslide Hitch for 2010 Ram 2500 Mega Cab

Question:

Hello... I have a 2010 Ram 2500 MegaCab long bed frame but with a 6’4” bed Am currently thinking about a 2018 Jayco North Point 377RLBH 5th wheel. Do you recommend manual or auto slider hitch? Can you point me in the right direction for everything you think I need? Dealer says they do a 20k Reese Pro Series slider hitch but I am wondering if an auto slider is the way to go due to the added cab space / shortened bed. If you could recommend all the parts - soup to nuts - that I’d need I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Though an auto-slide hitch is not going to give you more front-to-back travel, it is extremely beneficial because of how simple it is to use and I highly recommend the auto-sliding Demco Hijacker # DM8550037 for your 2010 Ram 2500 Mega Cab. You can mount this hitch with the Underbed Rail and Installation Kit # DM8551005, which is a confirmed fit for your truck and has underbed rails so you can remove the hitch at any time and still have full access to your truck's bed.

The Hijacker uas a single-piece jaw which will wrap around your Jayco North Point's king pin to give you an optimal connection. It also has a towing capacity of 21,000 lbs and a double-pivoting hitch head to make hooking up an easier process. The Demco has 3 height settings and 14" of front-to-back travel for the clearance you were asking about. This hitch is not compatible with Sidewinder or Revolution king pins, but is with Glide Ride, Mor Ryde, Trailair Tri Glide, Trailair Flexair, Rota Flex, and 5th Airborne pin boxes, requyiring only a locking plate. If you have one of those let me know and I'd be happy to get you the right locking plate.

I've added links to video reviews of the hitch and rails for you to take a look at as well.
