Will Equal-i-zer WD Shank # EQ90-02-4600 Clear Rear Bumper of 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan

Question:

I purchased a Equalizer E2 weight distribution hitch 6000 GTW to use with a class 3, 2x2 hitch, mounted on my Dodge Grand Caravan. I need to have the ball at 21inch from the ground to tow a R-Pod camper 2400 UVW and 242 lbs. hitch weight. The top of the receiver in my Dodge is 11 3/8inch from the ground. I need a riser to bring the ball to 21inch and a long enough shank to clear the opening rear gate. Would the EQ90-02-4600 shank work on my Dodge? I am not sure that the angled support bracket will clear the bumper. Thank you,

The Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank # EQ90-02-4600 referenced in your question features the 8 inch maximum rise that you are needing and has an overall length of 18 inches. With regards to clearing the rear bumper on your Grand Caravan with it in the rise position, an important measurement to note is the 5 inch distance between the hitch pin hole on the shank the the start of the angled support plate. I have attached an image that clarifies this dimension.

We have installed both the Draw-Tite # 75579 and the Curt # 13364 on your 2015 Grand Caravan, which are the only two Class III hitches available for the vehicle. We found that with either hitch installed, the distance from the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the rear bumper is less than 5 inches, meaning there will not be any interference between the above mentioned shank and your vehicle. You can take a quick measurement from the center of the hitch pin hole on your trailer hitch to the outer edge of the bumper just to verify this.

I have attached a short video demonstration on this weight distribution shank that you can also take a look at.
