Correct Installation Height for B&W Companion BWRVK3700 5th Wheel Hitch

Question:

I am looking to confirm the correct height to set the hitch on install. I have not picked up the trailer yet but do know the hitch height of the trailer when level. It suggest I should set it on the lowest setting but I am questioning that. Any help would be appreciated.

Even if we know your specific trailer model you will still need to check the trailer height for adjusting the B&W Companion hitch's height in your Silverado 3500. Different wheel/tire sizes will affect the actual king pin height on the trailer. The Companion # BWRVK3700 offers 2-inches of adjustment range, with height from 16-3/4-inches to 18-3/4-inches.

When determining the right hitch height you will use the 54" height you measured from the ground to the bottom of the pin box skid plate. This means you want your hitch height setting to be as close to 18" as you can get it.
