Can Additional Mounting Holes be Drilled in Boat Trailer Standard Roller Bunk # DL21754

I want to do a direct replacement of my carpeted bunks with rollers. Will I hasten damage to the rollers if I drill a 3/16inch hole dead center forward to aft on the part of the metal bracket that cradles the 2 X 4? There are already 4 holes in the metal bracket but none of them are usable for my situation.

As long as the additional holes you drill in the Boat Trailer Standard Roller Bunk # DL21754 are on the sides of that cradle the piece of wood like you mentioned you'd be totally fine.
