Plate Thickness and 5th Wheel Hitch for a 2010 Toyota Tundra
Question:
I am interested in the 5th wheel hitch no. RP30047. Can you tell me how thick the rails that attach to the truck bed are? Not the metal plate thickness, but how thick the formed part is. Also, I couldnt find a fit guideinch on your website. Is there a customized mounting kit available for this hitch for my 2010 Tundra, 6.5 ft bed? Thanks in advance

The industry standard rails of the Reese 5th Wheel Hitch, part # RP50084-58 are 1-1/2 inches tall, from the truck bed to the top of the central plate. These rails also come with custom brackets that will use the existing holes to mount to the frame of your 2010 Toyota Tundra 6-1/2 foot bed. The hitch is available separately as part # RP30047 but since you have a short bed I recommend the Reese Sliding Fifth Wheel Hitch # RP30051 to allow for more turning clearance.
I've included a video of this hitch being installed with a custom kit on a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado so you can get familiar with how the installation process of a fifth wheel goes.
