Height of Curt Bent Plate Gooseneck Hitch Versus The Curt Spyder Goosneck Hitch

Question:

Hello, I already bought the Curt spyder gooseneck hitch to in my rails to pull my horse trailer. The problem is its too tall. It makes my trailer sit too high in the front, and Ive adjusted the neck on my trailer as far as it will go. So I was wondering if the ball on the bent plate will sit lower than the spyder? And if so, by how much? Thanks!

The Curt Spyder Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Fifth Wheel Rails # 16085 sits 7-1/2 inches above the rails at the highest point. The Curt Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Fifth Wheel Rails - 3" Offset # 16055 will sit lower with the top of the ball 5 inches from the top of the rails. I've attached some measurements to assist.
