Recommended SumoSprings Front Suspension Enhancement for 2005 Ford E350 on Dirt Roads

Question:

Hi, I have a 2005 Ford E350 extended body passenger van that I took on a trip to Baja California last year that came back with the shock absorber boots being melted because I was forced to drive on dirt roads for hours as the main road was under repair. The suspension is stock and at stock height. I have had issues trying to locate a set of front shocks that include a reservoir to allow the fluid to cool. Since the van is stock height, many of the aftermarket options are too long for the front as the aftermarket options are designed more for lifted suspensions. I have found some aftermarket reservoir shocks that would take care of my rear suspension, but nothing for the front. I was curious if the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Front Axle SSF-106-40 might be an alternative to give the shocks some relief in my dirt road situation. Any thoughts you could provide would be helpful. Regards

The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSF-106-40 are a good option to assist with your front suspension on dirt roads. The microcellular urethane springs will help support a heavy load and cushion bumps. They will assist with load leveling and reduce body roll as well. The spring compress progressively to assist as needed, so for light loads you won't feel as much assistance as with heavier loads. The springs compress up to 80 percent to give their maximum support. They work independently of each other and are tested to work in temps from -25 to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. They are maintenance free and easy to install.

Although they won't give you the cooling reservoir of performance shocks, they will assist your suspension system to minimize movement and friction and in a way do the heavy lifting of the system when needed. I believe you will be very happy with the added help of these springs.
