Weight of Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver and Other Parts to Tow with a 2017 Ford Mustang
Question:
Hello, how much does the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Item # C11405 weigh with hardware? Im considering one to pull a track tire trailer to the track, but weight is always a factor on track cars... thank you!

The Curt trailer hitch receiver, part # C11405, has a shipping weight of 45 pounds. That includes the hitch, hardware, and shipping materials. The shipping materials don't amount to much so the hitch and hardware weigh just a bit under the 45 pounds. The Draw-Tite hitch that also fits your 2017 Ford Mustang, part # 24928, is 43 pounds for shipping so it's just a little less than the Curt.
You need to add trailer wiring too. I recommend part # 118487 which is a fit for your Mustang.
Class I hitches, like the 2 mentioned above, require you use the specific ball mounts. If you get the Curt htich use # C45520 with pin and clip # F-4. Use # 3594 if you get the Draw-Tite hitch, it includes the pin and clip.
Both ball mounts have a 3/4 inch diameter hole for the hitch ball. If your trailer fits a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 or if it fits a 2 inch ball use # 19258.
