Is There A Motorcycle Carrier Available That Will Fit a 1-1/4 Hitch On a 2005 Ford Explorer
Question:
My bike weighs about 275 pounds. It is a Honda cfr230m. Do you make a carrier for my 2005 Ford Explorer with a 1 1/4 receiver?

To use the etrailer Motorcycle Carrier, part # e98873, or any motorcycle carrier, you would need to install a Class III 2 inch hitch on your 2005 Ford Explorer. I would recommend the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, part # 75132, which has a tongue weight capacity of 500 lbs.
The OEM or factory 1-1/4 inch hitch that is on your Ford Explorer does not have the capacity to support a motorcycle carrier and motorcycle. The Draw-Tite Hitch will install below your factory 1-1/4 hitch and will allow you to use a motorcycle carrier.
The weight of your Honda CFR230M added to the 58 pound weight of the Motorcycle Carrier, is considered tongue weight. You will want to make sure not to exceed the towing and tongue weight capacity of the hitch and your vehicle as stated in the vehicle owner's manual.
This carrier comes with a threaded, anti-rattle hitch pin to reduce movement and noise of carrier in the hitch receiver. You could also add the etrailer anti-rattle lock # e99047 to prevent theft.
I have linked instructions for the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, part # 75132.
