I have a 2008 Ford F350 Diesel super duty. I just purchased a Durango Gold 384RLT. What do I need to order to get the truck ready to tow. It is a long bed. Thanks.

Your KZ Durango Gold 384RLT 5th wheel trailer has a GVWR of 14,995-lbs so for a hitch I recommend at least an 18K rating. Safety margin in any item, whether a 5th wheel hitch, winch or jack, tends to mean a longer working life for that item since operating a product below its absolute maximum capacity will usually mean it will operate with less wear and stress. The 6.8L F-350 SRW pickup has plenty of towing capacity for this trailer.

Since you have a long bed F-350 you do not need to bother with sliding hitches or with specialty Sidewinder pin boxes in order to have good turning clearance; your long bed pickup naturally has the necessary turning clearance for tight turns. This means you can use a standard fixed hitch.

For quality and towing flexibility you cannot beat the B&W Companion. This unique setup combines BOTH gooseneck and 5th wheel hitches into one system. The under-bed install kit # BWGNRK1108-5W is also a gooseneck hitch. This means you can have a totally clear bed when you need it for cargo. When you need to tow a gooseneck trailer, just drop in the included ball. When you need to tow a 5th wheel, just drop in the 20K-rated Companion hitch # BWRVK3500-5W.
