Measuring for Drop or Rise on 2006 Dodge Ram Pickup
Question:
I have a 2006 dodge ram 3500 with a 4.5 inch lift and 35 inch tires. Is the shank that comes with this long enough or do I need to look at a longer drop shank? If so what should I be looking for?

To determine if the shank on Curt TruTrack # C17501 will provide you with enough drop on your 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 you will need to take a couple measurements. Ensuring your Ram and trailer are on level ground, measure from the top of the receiver on your Ram to the ground. Then measure from the bottom of your trailer's coupler to the ground. Assuming the Ram is higher, the amount the hitch is higher by is the amount of drop you will need to account for.
Should you end up needing a shank with more drop, the Curt # C17123 will give you a maximum of 8-1/4" with your trunnion bar system. I've added a link to a video review of this product for you to take a look at.
