Reducing the Movement in Hitch Receiver when Using an Adapter with the Yakima # Y02457Bike Rack
Question:
I would like to retro your Yakima RidgeBack 2 Bike Rack Item # Y02457inch to fit a 2 in receiver. I have an adapter, but there is a great deal of play, it wiggles too much. I want to replace the bottom piece of the rack to fit a 2 in receiver. Help please.

The Yakima RidgeBack 2 Bike Rack Item # Y02457 does have a 2 inch receiver option. It comes with both sizes if you already have this rack, watch the attached video to see which part you need to use and how to use it. Additionally, I do have a few things that you can use to reduce the amount of play you are seeing in your bike rack.
The best solution is to use an anti-rattle device like the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for 1-1/4" Trailer Hitches # RM-061-125. This will help to put pressure on your adapter to decrease movement.
You can then use a support strap, like part # 18050, to help keep your bike rack stable.
These are the best options for you aside from purchasing a new bike rack that has the anti-rattle feature built-in. If you would like to go that route just let me know and I can choose a bike rack option for you.
