How to Know Correct Torque Values for Hitch Installation Hardware for Curt Class III Hitch C13284
Question:
What is the correct torque rate on the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2inch
asked by: Sam
Expert Reply:
Trailer hitches we sell always include the appropriate hardware kit and instructions that specify the torque values for the fasteners. Sometimes a hitch may use more than one bolt size and these might in some instances use different torque values. But again the hitch installation instructions will detail this as well as the specific tools required to install it.
Curt 2-inch Class III hitch # C13284 install instructions are linked for you. I also linked an install video showing your exact year and model vehicle and a helpful article on hitch installation.
Please note that hitch hardware is one-time-use only. You cannot re-install the same hardware if it has already been torqued down. If a hitch is moved to another compatible vehicle a new hardware kit # RHK is required. Just enter the hitch part number and brand name on the RHK kit's page.
