Troubleshooting Battery Charge Line Kit on 2018 Jeep Cherokee

I am trying to wire in a charger for a battery on a 2018 Jeep Cherokee to maintain it while being towed with a motorhome. I have determined what I need to do the job, but I need to know whether the plug coming from the motorhome is switched or unswitched. How can I determine this? I thought if I put the leeds in the power and ground plugs it would show no power with key off and have power with key on, but it has some power with key off and more power with key on. Is something wrong with the plug on the motorhome, or does this mean it’s not switched?

I can assume you are using the recommended Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kits # RM-156-25 for towed vehicles and # RM-156-75 for motor homes. I've added links to installs of these kits for you to refer to so you can ensure your install followed the same process.
If by "switched" or "unswitched" you are asking if the 12 volt circuit turns off when you turn off your RV, then it seems as if it is not switched. You will want to disconnect your 2018 Jeep Cherokee from your RV when you are not towing it.
