Recommendation To Replace Slipper Spring And Bushings

Question:

I'm in the process of building a car trailer from an old stock trailer and it has slipper springs on the axle and one spring eye is egg shaped from the bushing being gone and the other spring eye is good granted bushing is shot. My question is I'm assuming that spring will need to be replaced with a new one. And my second question is about your never fail spring bushings it shows on your website that you only have 1 3/4 inch length bushings and the springs I have are 2 inches wide. Do they make 2 inch wide never fail bushings? My last question is I have 6 bolt hubs and I was wondering if I could use them on my new axles if the axle shaft and bearing numbers match up perfectly.

Yes, you will need to replace the spring with something like Item # e74SR. It is best to replace all springs at the same time so that you have even support and maintenance for the trailer. We do not carry 2 inch never fail bushings. I contacted Lippert Components who manufactures never fail bushings and they do not have a 2 inch option available at this time.

It also sounds like you have a new axle. Your hubs and axle shaft/spindle should work together so long as the bearing numbers and seals match. No matter what, everything needs to fit together to work.

Please let me know if I can do anything else to help.
