Fifth Wheel Hitch, Rail Kit, and Suspension Enhancement for 2017 Ford F-150 5-1/2 foot Bed

I have a 2017 F150 SuperCrew 4x4 Ecoboost with the 5.5’ bed. I’m planning on getting a fifth wheel RV with a Reese Sidewinder. I’m also planning on installing the Air Lift Loadlifter 5000 airbags. My goal is to have a fifth wheel hitch with below bed rails I do use my bed for other cargo and I don’t want to interfere with the airbags. Is this possible, and if so, how do I do it?

For a suspension enhancement solution that fits your 2017 Ford F-150 5-1/2 foot bed that is compatible with fifth wheel rails you'd want the Timbren kit part # TFR1504E which is a confirmed fit. Unlike the air bag style systems this will fit and work well with a fifth wheel rail kit.

We don't have a below the bed rail kit solution for your truck, but the Reese Hitch part # RP30867 with the custom install rail kit part # RP50087-58 would be a great solution. The hitch has a cushioned head that provides great king pin contact so you'd have a quiet, smooth ride and the rail kit is a custom install kit that will minimize drilling.

Sidewinders are pin box specific so you will first need to know what pin box you have now in order to pick out the correct one.

There should be a sticker or a stamping on the OEM pin box of the trailer that will list the pin box number that is on the trailer.

Once you figure out which pin box you have you can check the FAQ I attached that has a chart that shows the correct Sidewinder to get based on which pin box you have.
