Recommended 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for 2017 Ram 3500 with Factory Rail Kit and 6-1/2 Foot Bed

Hi Im trying to purchase a fifth wheel, and I have a 2017 Ram 3500 Cummings with the 64 bed and a crew cab... Has the factory 5th wheel setup. Im wondering if this is a suitable truck to pull a 2017 Grand Design solitude 375res, and what hitch I should buy to put in that truck. Id also like to use my hitch for it the maximum payload rating heavy equipment trailer.

I took a look at the online copy of your 2017 Ram 3500 owner's manual. Based on the information I found, your Ram 3500 with the Cummins diesel motor has an extremely high 5th wheel towing capacity of 32,000 pounds. I do also recommend verifying this information in your copy of the owner's manual.
With this in mind, you will have no trouble at all pulling the 2017 Grand Design Solitude 375RES 5th Wheel Trailer, which has a GVWR of 16,500 pounds.
For a sliding 5th-wheel hitch that will mount directly to the factory pucks on your 3500 bed, I recommend the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # BWRVK3670. This sliding hitch will attach to the receivers on your truck and provide a gross towing weight capacity of 20,000 pounds. The built-in slider will provide 12 inches of front to back movement for making tight turns with your short bed and a 1 inch thick, dual jaw that will securely connect to the trailer king pin.
