Recommended Hardwiring of 7-Way Connector on a 1999 Chevy Suburban
Question:
Any reason I couldnt hardwire this HM40975-11998 into my 1999 Chevrolet Suburban? I like the stock look of this better than others. I have the 4 way Td in right now but need to convert over to 7 way for adding back up lights to my boat trailer, plus have the 4 way option as well. Thanks

Hardwiring the Hopkins 7-Pole and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Sockets w/ Mounting Bracket and Wiring # HM40975-11998 will work just fine for your 1999 Chevy Suburban. Some models do have the brake (blue) and hot lead (orange or red) wires already ran from under the hood to the end of the driver's side frame rail so I recommend checking into that. If they are not there, then you will want # 5506 to finish this wiring. I've attached a video of the # ETBC7 wiring that will be almost identical to the wiring of your 1999 Suburban hardwiring.
