Recommended Flat Towing System for 2000 Nissan Frontier 4x4

Can I flat tow a 2000 Nissan frontier 4x4

Expert Reply:
You can flat tow a 2000 Nissan Frontier 4x4 with a manual transmission with speed restriction of 60 mph. If you have the automatic transmission, you can flat tow if you use a drive shaft coupling disconnect. We do not carry this product, but I can give you a referral if you need one.
For your flat towing system, I recommend you start with the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Fixed Arms # BX1824. Then I recommend the Blue Ox Alpha Tow Bar - Motorhome Mount - 6,500 lbs # BX7380 which comes with the safety cables needed. I recommend the Blue Ox Base-Plate and Receiver Lock Kit - Qty 4 # BX88177 to secure your connections.
For your tow bar wiring, I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This will give you a clean connection and allow you to use your factory wiring while protecting it.
For your supplemental braking, I recommend the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # SM99251. This system is a simple installation and is extremely reliable. It is an installers favorite and gives you a simple plug and play connection once installed.
The final thing you need is a high-low adapter to ensure your towing is within the safe operation limits. I've attached an article to assist and have linked the page to your options.
