Hub and Drum Assembly Needed for a 1979 Featherlite Horse Trailer with 6000lb Axles
Question:
Have a 1979 Featherlite Horse Trailer that needs a hub/drum assembly. I believe the axles ar 6k? The lug pattern is 8x6.5. The spindle measures out at 1-3/4 x 1-5/16 and the seal is 2-1/4. What hub/drum assembly do you recommend for me? Thanks in advance of your answer.

It sounds as if you will need the trailer hub and drum assembly # 42866UC3, which has an 8 on 6-1/2 bolt pattern and uses the # 25580 inner bearing (1.75 inch inner diameter) and # 14125A outer bearing (1.25 inch inner diameter).
This assembly works with a 12 x 2 inch brake assembly like left hand electric brake assembly # 23-105, and with wheels that use 1/2 inch studs.
There are numerous other possibilities, like 12 x 2-1/4 inch brake assemblies, different bearing part numbers, and different stud sizes that need to be taken into consideration. If you can let me know the inner and outer bearing part numbers, the brake assembly diameter and shoe width, and the size of the studs your wheels fit on from your existing parts, I can make a much more accurate recommendation.
