I do have a solution for you, however the Curt Class II Trailer Hitch # C12036 referenced in your question is not confirmed to fit your 2017 Ford Edge Titanium Model.

For a Class II hitch that will fit your Ford Edge Titanium, I instead recommend the Curt Round Tube Receiver Hitch # C12140. This custom-fit hitch will use existing holes in the vehicle's frame for a no-drill installation. It will provide you with a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening and has a 3,500 pound towing weight capacity. You will also want to check the capacity of the vehicle itself as listed in the owner's manual, as this will likely be the limiting factor. You will simply need to stay under whichever capacity is lower, the vehicle's or the hitch's.

Please also note that Curt requires that all non-trailer loads (bike racks, cargo carriers, etc) be supported with stabilizing straps like # 18050. I have included a short video demonstration on this product so you can see exactly how it will attach to the vehicle and hitch-mounted accessory.
