Will the Ground Clearance of the Draw-Tite # 75992 on a 2011 Ford Edge be an Issue When Towing
Question:
2011 ford edge Limited FWD. I believe every Ford Edge that I have seen with a trailer hitch had the facia cut out. Is that difference in height between the P/N 75992 and the others going to be an issue when I rent or buy a trailer?

You should have no issues being able to tow a trailer behind your 2011 Ford Edge Limited after installing the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75992. You will simply need to find a ball mount that has the correct rise or drop to ensure that it is level. When we installed this trailer hitch on a similar 2011 Edge (see attached video) we found from the ground to the top of the inside of the hitch receiver was about 13-1/2 inches. You can use this measurement and the attached ball mount article to help you choose the appropriate ball mount from our selection that I have linked for you.
If you will be towing a few different trailer then what you may find helpful is using an adjustable ball mount like part # 63070 which can be adjustable for a 4-3/4" drop all the way to a 5-11/16" rise.
If you don't already have wiring for your trailer on your 2011 Edge then I also recommend installing the Tekonsha T-One # 118515 which will give you a 4-Way connector at the rear of your Ford Edge to activate the lights on your trailer. An installation video for this product has been linked for you to review as well.
