Recommended Over-Under Kit for 2-3/8 Inch Axle
Question:
Id like to convert the 2.5inch axle on my car trailer to be below the spring. The question is very close to this one, however my axle is 2.5inch diameter: https://www.etrailer.com/question-36526.html Are there any conversion kits for 2.5inch axles? All I have been able to find is for 3inch and 2 3/8inch axles.

There is not a kit available for your 2.5 inch diameter axle. That is not a standard size, so there are not spring seats or conversion kits available for that size.
I recommend checking your axle diameter with a digital caliper like # PTW80157. If you end up having a 2-3/8 inch axle which is by far the most common size, then you can use the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-385-00. If you have 2-1/2 inch diameter, you will need to do a custom kit, and I recommend getting trailer shop to do the work for you if that is the case. It would effect the sping seats, the u-bolts, the plates, and the spacers if this is the case.
