I do have a solution for you. In order to add a 7-Way wiring harness to your 2001 Toyota Tundra, you will need to start by adding a 4-Way, # 118378, if you need one. I have included a link to the installation instructions for this harness for you to view.
With a 4-Way installed (or using an existing 4-Way if applicable) you will then need to install a 4 and 7 Way Installation Kit, # ETBC7. This kit includes everything you will need to install a functioning 7-Way on your truck. I have included some links that explain how the ETBC7 is installed.
The links mention the installation of a brake controller as well. If the trailer has a 7-Way connector, then it probably has electric brakes. For a brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha P2, # 90885, because it is easy to set up and easy to use. I have included a link to the installation details for the brake controller as well.
