Replacement Curt Trailer Hitch Hardware Kit for a 2009 Volkswagen Rabbit
Question:
Hi - I recently received a CURT C11074 Trailer hitch for the 2009 VW Rabbit from a friend who no longer has their MK5 rabbit. Is it possible to purchase *only* the replacement mounting hardware for this specific mount instead of the generic hardware replacement pack which has way more than I need and costs half as much as the hitch new? Thanks!

The correct replacement hardware kit for the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11074 on your 2009 Volkswagen Rabbit is the Replacement Hardware Kit for Trailer Hitches part # RHK. Once you have arrived at the product page for the replacement hardware kit you just simply need to enter "C11074" into the hitch item number box and "Curt" in the manufacturer box which will in turn give you the correct hardware upon purchase.
The photo listed on the product page for the replacement hardware kit is a typically photo and not of the actual hardware you will be receiving. This is also the only replacement hardware kit option we offer for our trailer hitch receivers.
If you choose to go out and purchase the replacement hardware on your own you will need the following items:
(2) 1/2" - 13 x 2" Grade 8 Carriage Bolts
(2) Grade 8 Hex Flange Nuts
(2) .250 x 1.00 x 2.50" Square Hole Spacers
If you need a wiring harness and ball mount then the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter part # C59236 and the Curt Class II Drawbar part # C45016 will work for you. If do not plan to be using the trailer hitch receiver for towing you will also need the Curt Trailer Hitch Support Strap part # 18050 to abide by Curt's manufacturer warranty.
I have also attached an installion video of this hitch installed on a 2008 Volkswagen Rabbit for you.
