Troubleshooting Wiring on Utility Trailer that Doesnt Match Colors with Truck Lights
Question:
Im trying to connect my utility trailer light to my truck lights. My new light is white brown green and yellow. My trailer lights a green solid and green and brown mix a yellow solid and yellow and brown mix what color do I connect together?

It is not easy to tell by colors. You will need to determine the function of the wiring. With a 4 wire system, you normally will have a running light, stop light, turn signal, and ground. There are however some 4 wire lights that will have a combined turn/stop light wire and a reverse light wire. I recommend using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to test for functions. If your new light doesn't have these functions listed for you to combine once you've tested the trailer wiring, then you can test the light using a battery by just connecting white to ground and then power to each wire for function.
