Diode Installation to Allow Both Low Beam and DRL Circuits to Feed Add-On LED Light Strip

Question:

If I hook 2 positive feeds to the input side both being operated by different relays, will the diode keep each from back feeding? Or do they have to pass thru before the back feed stops? What if both inputs are energized at same time? My situation is this: I have low beam and drl. I added led strip lights. I tapped feed from drl and rerouted it to my led strip lights. I want to energize the strips while my headlights are on too but drls disengage. I tapped the low beam and ran it in with the drl feed and a relay. When the low beams are on, the strips are too. But when the drls come on, the the headlights are being back fed from the drl.

Roadmaster Diode # RM-790 can handle up to 85-amps of current so one should be sufficient to handle both the low beam and daytime running light circuit input signals you want to feed to your LED strip light.

It is fine to have two hot leads connected to the one diode so long as the total rating is high enough.
