Will Existing Base Rails on Truck be Compatible with and Strong Enough for Curt Q24 Sliding Hitch

Question:

Hello, I have an E5 16000 lb. hitch currently. Will a Q24 slider fit my current bed rails and if so are they OK to handle the extra weight rating?

The Curt Q24 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R24 Slider # C16546 referenced in your question is compatible with industry standard, above-bed base rails, which is the same type of rails that your existing Curt E5 5th Wheel Hitch mounts to. With this in mind, the existing bed rails you have installed on your truck will work with and are compatible with the Curt Q24 Hitch. You will not need to replace them.

Your existing rails will also be sufficiently rated to handle the increased weight capacity of the Curt Q24 Hitch. 5th wheel rails are made to be strong enough to handle the maximum capacity of the truck they are designed to install on. This essentially means that your only limitation will be the truck's towing weight capacity (assuming you stay below the hitch's rating).

You can verify your truck's towing capacity by simply looking through your copy of the owner's manual.
