Replacement Tail Lights for a 1981 Palomino Pop Up Camper

Question:

I have a 1981 Palomino pop up camping trailer that has two wire tail lights. What is best option to replace them ? Is the Bargman surface mount tail light series 92 Item number 30-92-002 5 wires a good fit ? Let me know. Thanks !

The first thing to look at is the size of the Bargman tail light # 30-92-002 and how it compares to the existing lights on your 1981 Palomino pup. The Bargman light is 8-9/16" long x 4-9/16" wide x 2-1/8" thick.

The wiring on this light may seem a little confusing but I can explain it. The two white wires are ground wires and will need to attach to a clean, bare metal surface. The black wire is for brake lights and turn signals. Green is for running lights. That leaves the red wire for reverse lights. If your existing lights do not have reverse lights and/or the trailer only has a 4-Way flat connector then this light would not be the best match for your trailer.

For similar lights that do not have reverse lights in them you could use # RVST60 and # RVST61.
