Recommended Trailer Brake Controller and Wiring for 2004 Nissan Frontier
Question:
Im interested in a trailer brake controller unit for my 04 nissan frontier xe Crew cab. It has the 4 pin harness now, i also just added a 7 pole connector to my hitch and it works but now i want to add the trailer brake unit. I was wondering if you sold your kit ETBC7 without the 7 pole adapter, but all the other hardware? Thank you. Also do you have a kit to connect the truck to the auxiliary wire of the 7 pole adapter and even the reverse lights from my truck to the 7 pole adapter. ..thank you for your time.

Starting with the brake controller itself, I highly recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885. This is an excellent, proportional controller that will activate your trailer's brakes at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in your Frontier. The unit features an easy-to-read digital display and continuous diagnostics that will alert you to potential issues.
We do have a combination of a couple kits that will give you everything included with the # ETBC7 Universal Wiring Kit, except the 7- and 4-Way connector.
The Hopkins Trailer Wiring Installation Kit # HM51000 will include the butt connectors, quick splices, ring terminals and a circuit tester to assist with installation. Then for the needed circuit breakers and wiring, you will want the Draw-Tite Wiring Kit # 5506. These two kits will give you everything from the # ETBC7 without the actual connector.
The included wiring and circuit breakers will be everything you need for a fully functional 7-Way, including the power/auxiliary wire and the reverse light circuit on the connector. If additional 12 gauge wiring is needed, you can just use # 12-1-1, which is sold by the foot.
