Expert Reply:
For your 2017 Forest River Sandstorm 180SLC, I recommend the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System w Sway Control - Trunnion Bar - 12,000 lbs GTW, 1,200 lbs TW # RP66084. This system is rated for total tongue weight (loaded trailer tongue weight and any cargo behind rear axle of your Sierra 1500) between 600 and 1200 lbs. This will put your trailer in the sweet spot in the middle of that range for a nice ride. The Strait-Line is my favorite system due to the sway control you mentioned with the dual cams and hot rolled spring bars.
