Should Friction Sway Control Be Used on a Trailer With Reese Strait Line Weight Distribution
Question:
I recently purchased a Rockwood Ultralight, dry weight 6,500lb/TW about 1100lb. I had a Rockwood Roo 21 SS that had a dry weight of about 4,800. I used a strait-line WD system w/ sway control w/ 800lb trunnion bars. I recently purchased 1,200lb bars from you folks. The Ultralight came w/ a Reese friction sway control bar. The question is: Is it necessary to use that when using the strait-line WD system. Any insight you may have is welcome. Thank you.......

You would not need to use a friction sway control system with a Dual Cam setup like what came with the Reese Strait Line system you have. The Strait-Line offers a much better version of proactive sway control that works to keep the trailer lined up straight as you are traveling.
