How to Choose Correct Fixed or Adjustable Ball Mount
Question:
Determining correct ball mount. Have 2x2 hitch. New travel trailer has top of ball 20inch from ground. Bottom of 4RNR hitch opening for me is 20 inches. What ball mount ? do I need? Is adjustable mount preferred?

Finding the right ball mount, one with the correct rise or drop, will allow your hitched trailer to be level which is important for best handling. We offer both fixed and adjustable ball mounts for 2-inch hitches that are shown on the linked page.
If you tow only one trailer and only with one vehicle then you may not need the benefit of flexibility from an adjustable ball mount like the Curt # C45900. If you have more than one trailer or tow vehicle then an adjustable ball mount is the way to go.
But if you just need one to suit a specific vehicle/trailer combination then the fixed type will be more cost-effective. You can refer to the linked article for a clear illustration of how to measure and select the right ball mount for your specific application.
