Custom Wedge and Sidewinder Compatibility for Curt Q5 Hitch
Question:
I have a 19k sidewinder kingpin on my trailer. I am looking at getting a used Curt Q5 20k hitch and would like to know if there is a custom wedge to go with this hitch? I am thinking that the wedge for the Curt A20 hitch would work? Let me know

There is not a custom wedge currently offered for the Curt Q5. The Curt Q Series hitches have much wider jaws than the A Series hitches, so even with a wedge, the Q Series hitches are incompatible with Sidewinders. If you have an 8-foot truck bed, you could replace the Sidewinder with a standard pin box and use the Curt hitch as planned. However, if your truck bed is 6 feet or shorter, the Sidewinder is a necessity, so the other option would be to use a different hitch.
