Does Under Body Panel Get Trimmed or Removed to Install Trailer Hitch on a 2015 Ford Fusion
Question:
Tech Tip Underbody panel must be trimmed and reattached for Fusion Energi to protect the battery compartment. No drilling required for installation , Underbody panels must be permanently removed for hitch installation. This is very confusing. Please send diagram or pictures of what this means.

That is a confusing series of notes for Curt trailer hitch # C12091 and the 2015 Ford Fusion. Basically, the instructions call for the removal of a fascia piece. But it is possible to trim it and reinstall it hence the contradictory notes. I have linked the instructions for you as well as a video showing an example installation. I would just leave the panel off because the hitch is basically taking its place.
