Troubleshooting Kuat Transfer Bike Rack that Moves in the Hitch

Question:

I have a Kuat Transfer bike rack that fits into a 1.25inch hitch. It has a fair amount of hitch wobble and their threaded hitch pin doesnt seem to totally deal with it. Do you have something that would work? Ideally I could lock it too.

If you check out the test course video I attached for the Kuat Transfer TS02G that shows how stable it is on the road you'll see that the rack is supposed to be pretty stable once the hitch pin is tightened.

What is most likely going on is that the hitch pin may not be tight enough to remove all of the movement.

The easiest way to fix this is to tighten the hitch pin while you move the rack around in the hitch. This is the easiest way to get all of the movement out of the rack.

For a lock for both the bike rack and the bikes to the rack the part # PTSCLK12 would be what you need.

I just installed a Kuat Transfer Rack to a 11/4 inch hitch. It wobbled quite a bit. I had tightened the hitch pin bolt as much as I could, There is an additional step which is not in the instructions. There is a tiny hex pin screw at the front of the hitch that you can tighten with the largest hex wrench included with the other tools which will tighten the ball bearing that is on the rack hitch part to make a snug fit. This stopped the wobble completely. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HG0pC2C2hm4 Look at 2:24 - 3:00
