Recommended Brake Controller for a 2002 Mercedes-Benz ML320

Question:

I am towing an Aliner trailer, 1,600#, behind a 2002 Mercedes ML320 with a 7 pin connector. The trailer has electric brakes. Is the Prodigy P2 the best controller for me? Is the installation on my vehicle difficult? My 7-pin connector is OEM.

The Prodigy P2 # 90885 will work great on your 2002 Mercedes-Benz ML320. The P2 is one of the easier proportional brake controller to set up and use. The LED display allows the driver read the diagnostic and operational information the brake controller is relaying.

For your 2002 Mercedes ML320 there is no plug and play wiring harness available. The controller comes with a wiring pigtail to hardware the connection. The wiring functions on the pigtail are as follows:

Black wire - 12 volt power supply
White wire - ground
Blue wire- brake circuit back to 7-way connector
Red wire- cold side of the vehicle's brake light switch
